If you are unfamiliar with British gambling, you may not know what the game Pontoon is. Pontoon is the British equivalent of the American casino game of Blackjack. Just like in blackjack, the objective here is for a player to come as close to 21 as possible without going over 21 and still maintaining a higher point value than the dealer.

Since many people are unfamiliar with this game, you may want to review the rules before you begin playing it. Many casinos have very similar rules for Pontoon and Blackjack. Pontoon Rules

1. This game uses 8 traditional decks of 52 cards each

2. The deck is automatically reshuffled after one third of it has been used

3. It is the responsibility of the dealer to twist on 16, soft 17, and stick on hard 17

4. This game has a payout of 2 to 1

5. The 5-card trick will also pay 2 to 1

6. It is the responsibility of the player to twist on 14 or less

7. You are able to twist after buying is allowed

8. You are allowed to split up to two times

9. The dealer automatically wins any ties that occur

10. You will be allowed to split Aces

11. Unlike in the game of Blackjack there is no insurance in this game

Once you have made your bet you will receive two cards that are face up on the table. The dealer will receive two cards but his cards will be face down so you cannot see them. Your hand will be valued by the cards that you have in your hand. This is why you do not need to mention the value of your Ace. The dealer is always going to assume it is what is necessary to give you the best possible hand. Once your total is added up based on the cards you have if you are closer to 21 than the dealer is then you win. You will also win if the dealer goes over 21. the player can play pontoon in online casinos.

You have the option of playing single or multi-player Pontoon. In the multi-player version, each table is set up to handle three players and one dealer. You will notice your seat at the table because (in most cases) you will see an arrow or it will be lit up. If you want to change your seat, you can do that between hands but that is the only time it is allowed.
