When most people think of Nevada gambling they think of Las Vegas. Las Vegas is certainly the casino gambling capitol of the world, but it isn’t the only gambling haven in Nevada. There are quite a few other places that have gambling. Reno is Nevada’s second largest city and also has many gambling establishment, including some of the big name hotel-casino resort complexes. The resorts are not on the same magnitude as the Las Vegas resort, but they still offer all of the amenities, including big-name Las Vegas style entertainment.
You’ll find many recognizable names in Reno, like Circus Circus, the Atlantis, the Peppermill, Fitzgerald’s, the Sands, the Reno Hilton, etc. While Reno is not as big as Las Vegas, its casinos are usually not as jammed as the Vegas casinos are. However most of the casino games like bingo game, roulette, poker, blackjack, baccarat are available for playing. It is not the same kind of experience as Vegas with its mega resorts but it offers everything that is required for the serious gambler.
There are also other casinos and hotels in the nearby Lake Tahoe area with all of its scenery. Much smaller than Reno, it still has hotel-casino complexes and several independent casinos in the center of town. The area is also a popular ski resort area for those who are thinking of winter vacations. They can combine skiing and winter sports with their evenings at the casinos. Plane service is available to nearby Reno with land transportation available to Lake Tahoe. The Reno-Lake Tahoe area offers its own experience to vacationers and gamblers who are looking for a location other than Las Vegas. |
